Showing Up

There are times I’ve been desperate 

When I walked in somewhere for help 

And times I slipped in the side door 

While I continued to pretend that nothing was wrong. 

There were times my arms were wide open 

And other times I hid it from myself even. 

Times I was brave and open and hopeful. 

Times I was broken and fearful. 

But as long as you keep finding inside yourself 

The courage to reach out — no matter how you do it 

You will always keep growing. 

You will always take steps closer to becoming.
